Several restaurants in Colorado Springs donate portion of earnings Thursday for a cause
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- Eight restaurants in Colorado Springs are participating in the "Dining Out For Life" event Thursday, raising money for Project Angel Heart.
Project Angel Heart delivers medically tailored meals to people living with severe illnesses like cancer and HIV/AIDS.
Thursday, more than 160 restaurants in Colorado will donate 25% of its profits to the charity. This is an annual event, but the first time in two years that the fundraiser has been in-person due to the pandemic.
Last year, Project Angel Heart delivered more than 600,000 meals to Coloradans in need. Although the organization is international, Colorado leads the nation with the most money raised.
