Woman organizes drive thru parade to thank essential workers in Colorado Springs

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- A woman in Colorado Springs is organizing a drive thru parade on Saturday to thank essential workers during the coronavirus pandemic.

The organizer Deb Guida says this will be a "social distancing style" citizen's event for people to show their gratitude to essential personnel helping fight COVID-19.

The Facebook event says people should "be creative and join us in decorating our cars, creating signs, dressing up in expressing our appreciation!"

The drive thru parade will happen Saturday at 3 p.m. at Vanguard Church on 3950 N Academy Boulevard. KRDO will be there to cover the event.
