App helps Colorado Springs family complete chores and keep track of allowance

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- Getting kids to do their chores can be a hassle. Luckily, there's an app for that.

"Busy Kid" allows parents to assign chores to their kids and add a dollar value for each task. Kids can spend the money they earn, save it, or even invest it in stocks.

The Clawson family in Colorado Springs is making full use of it.

"They look forward to doing their chores," says Brad Clawson, the father of the house. "Once they complete it they go to the app and it sets it up for a Friday payday. The payment of allowance was always hard to do. You had to keep track of it on a ledger or something. They always ask for something that gives you allowance. Now that's all cleared up. They know exactly how much money they have, and what money they can get. We don't have to have those circular discussions about how much money they have."
