COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- Monya Collins, a U.S. Army Veteran, received a new roof Thursday from Total Roofing & Restoration, an Owens Corning Platinum Roofing Contractor, as part of the Owens Corning Roof Deployment Project.

Through a partnership with Pikes Peak Habitat for Humanity, Collins was selected and approved as the recipient for the roof replacement.

"It's fun, it's exciting, it's humbling. Its' really exciting because we get to see the progress. I take my kids here and show them the progress every couple of weeks so they can be part of the process too," said Collins.

The Ownes Corning Roof Deployment Project is a nationwide effort to show gratitude and honor veterans who served our country and families who support them.

Since the inception of this program in 2016, more than 250 military members have received new roofs.
