White Ribbons and lights to honor healthcare workers

health care

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- Centura Health launched operation White Lights Thursday morning to honor healthcare workers for their endless work fighting the virus.

The health care workers were honored with a cheer parade from the Colorado Springs police and fire departments. They then placed white ribbons on trees, the color representing hope.

The white ribbon might seem simple, however, it symbolizes the gratitude the community has towards the healthcare workers who constantly persevere despite the challenges of the pandemic.

Now, all Centura Health hospitals in the state will display white bows outside their campuses. These ribbons are a simple yet meaningful way to say thank you.
