The city of Manitou Springs honors the class of 2020

MANITOU SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- When you enter Manitou Springs and look below majestic Pikes Peak -- or if you glance to your right while walking down the street -- and look up you will see a sign of the times.

"It goes all the way up Manitou and all the way down Manitou," says Manitou Springs High School senior, Sumari Bowen.

Riely Legere added, "I've always seen the banners around with some art and stuff. Always wanted to be on it now I am."

The Class of 2020 are now on banners that were put up by the city of Manitou Springs to honor the senior class.

"We have people that we know that care about us here and are still thinking about us and even though we are going through this crazy time right now there's still someone there that's doing stuff for us which is nice to know for sure," says Manitou Springs senior Grayson Bodor.

"I think it's awesome them putting up these signs for us is really humbling because we're one of the first to be graduating in such a confusing time," says Bowen.

A confusing time indeed, they were on cloud nine until the coronavirus put a halt to the train sort of speak.

"The biggest thing that I've missed out is the last bit of that senior year where you get to see everybody and kind of say your goodbyes to the school," says Bowen.

"Thinking about telling other kids not to take advantage or take their senior year for granted cuz you really don't realize how fast it's gonna go," says Bodor.
