COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- On Saturday, members from Team Rubicon and Honor Flight of Southern Colorado, along with other community members, helped JJ Inman with home help, yard fire mitigation, and house cleaning.

Team Rubicon serves communities by mobilizing veterans to continue their service by helping people prepare, respond, and recover from disasters and help out in the community.

JJ Inman fought in World War II, and flew with the Flying Tigers in China in 1944 and 1945.

The World War II veteran is now 98-years-old and lives in Colorado Springs.

One organizer for Saturday's event, Mark Schaefer, said, "The look of appreciation on his face when we offered to do some of these tasks was heartwarming."
