COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- The Pueblo Community College Foundation with Pueblo native Mindy (Stein) Carton and her father, Pueblo businessman and philanthropist Marvin Stein, donated 1,700 bags of candy and thank-you cards for local health care professionals working on the frontlines during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The project, called 'Kisses 4 our Lifesavers,' was sparked by Carton's gifts to a group of Colorado nurses who traveled to New Jersey. Thursday, Parkview's hospital staff received 1,200 bags. The remaining 500 bags will go to St. Mary-Corwin Medical Center at a later date.

Leslie Barnes, President of Parkview Medical Hospital, says, "That’s gonna make the staff feel great. They’ve worked really hard and just little things like that are you know, it just makes their day.”
