Shooting off Millburn Drive leaves one dead and another in critical condition

A video of the press conference on this incident is below. The updates begin around the 3:20 minute mark.

EL PASO COUNTY, Colo. (KRDO) -- The El Paso County Sheriff's Office (EPSO) says they are investigating a shooting in the 4400 block of Millburn Drive.

EPSO says they received multiple reports of shots being fired around 1:27 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 12.

When deputies arrived, they say they located one deceased male and one critically injured female. The female was taken to a local hospital, EPSO says.

Neither of the victims' identities has been publicly released at this time.

EPSO says they are investigating the one death as a homicide and have detained one person.

Law enforcement says residents can expect the area around Millburn Drive to be taped off for several hours as they conduct their investigation.

One neighbor tells KRDO13 that they were asked to leave their car down the street while deputies escorted them home.

"I was...starting to turn in, and then, I saw the tape... I don't feel good at all about this," says John Weaver, a neighbor. "It's not the fanciest neighborhood, but overall, it's been safe, and I feel safe. So this...is a shocker."

At this time, details are limited. This article may be updated.
