Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region celebrates volunteer’s 400th foster

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- The Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region says that a foster mom has reached an amazing milestone of fostering her 400th pet.

They say one local woman, Dennie, has been fostering kittens for years. Her foster journey began in Kansas.

"When we asked her what made her start fostering, she told us she’s always had a special connection to babies, all babies," the Humane Society wrote on social media.

Shelter officials say she had spent 25 years in the neonatal unit at a Denver-area hospital.

"When she moved to Pueblo, she decided to keep helping babies, only now, the babies had paws and whiskers," the Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region said.
