Pueblo Central High School SRO forms special friendship with pair of talented students

PUEBLO, Colo. (KRDO) - School resource officers (SRO) frequently develop friendships with the kids they work with every day, and that's certainly the case at one Pueblo high school.

A pair of talented musicians at Pueblo Central High School caught the ear of the school's SRO.

Abraham Suarez and Jayden Herrara together form the musical duo, "Sierra Alta." The musicians have struck up a special friendship with the school's SRO, Officer Ray Alvarez.

"School had just let out. I heard someone playing music, playing the guitar, so I walked over and ran into Abraham," said Officer Alvarez.

Since forming a bond with the teens, Officer Alvarez has been telling anyone he can about their music and they've already made fans within the Pueblo Police Department.

A spokesperson says this is just another example of how SROs support the kids they serve.
