CPW seeks public input on new Keep Colorado Wild Pass

COLORADO (KRDO) -- In 2021, Colorado Governor Jared Polis signed a bill to make it easier for Coloradans to access state parks and invest in the state's wildlife and great outdoors.

Beginning on Jan. 1, 2023, Colorado residents can purchase a $29 Keep Colorado Wild Pass when they renew their vehicle registration through the DMV. This is a sharp decrease in price from the previous $80 annual pass.

In addition to entry into all Colorado state parks, purchasing the pass also helps protect Colorado's wildlife, lands, and water, supports search and rescue programs, funds trail maintenance, and helps make the outdoors safer and more accessible to everyone.

According to CPW, residents will also have the opportunity to purchase a more affordable, income-eligible pass.

Before any of this is officially implemented, CPW would like to know your thoughts on the program. They are conducting a survey to learn more about how communities use state parks and what residents think about the Keep Colorado Wild Pass and the discounted, income-eligible pass.
