Free haircuts for veterans Thursday at several locations in Colorado Springs

KRDO

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- Veterans can attend the Paul Mitchell school on Colorado Avenue to get a free haircut and some pampering.

The school is open until 8 p.m. on Thursday and is available all day for shaves, haircuts, and other services for veterans.

Dawn Driskell, a learning leader at the cosmetology school, said it's a small thing they can do for the servicemen and women who have sacrificed so much.

JT Rich is an Army veteran who is also training to be a barber at the school. He said that giving haircuts to fellow veterans is great way to bond with them.

"When we’re working with the veterans and the barbers we have a lot of give and take, and we share stories and stuff like that so it’s a lot of bonding and giving back," Rich said.

The TIGI Hairdressing Academy is also giving free haircuts from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. at 5125 N. Academy Boulevard.
