Care and Share Holiday Food Distribution to feed nearly 500 families

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- Nearly 17 million children are said to suffer from hunger this year, according to Feeding America -- in Colorado, it is one in eight kids.

In efforts to ease the burden on some families this holiday season, the Centennial Elementary Care and Share food drive helped nearly 18-hundred Southern Colorado families by giving them a box of food.

Centennial Elementary School is a partnered with Care and Share, United Way and COSILoveYou to make this possible. A huge help for families in Southern Colorado. Many families expressed this food can last them for the next month.
