Juvenile in custody for Widefield shooting
WIDEFIELD, Colo. (KRDO) -- The El Paso County Sheriff's Office says it has arrested a juvenile suspect for a shooting Tuesday evening in Widefield.
Just before 10 p.m. Tuesday, deputies were dispatched to the 6900 block of Caballero Avenue in regards to a reported shooting.
When authorities arrived, they found a person in the driveway of the home with a gunshot wound. He was taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Deputies say they began a search for a juvenile suspect who fled the scene. He was arrested this afternoon without incident and is facing charges including criminal attempt murder and prohibited use of a weapon.
The sheriff's office says it won't release any more information since the suspect is underage.
