Local woman makes over 4,000 masks amid coronavirus pandemic
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- Jennifer Smith is passionate about mask-making because she knows a little something about wearing one.
Smith has been wearing a mask since January after having some health issues, so when the COVID-19 outbreak hit, she began making them for others.
It started as a small side project and has ballooned into a full-time effort with five sewing machines going throughout the day. Since starting, she's made more than 4,000 masks.
"I just give them away. I don't ask for anything. I mean, if someone wants to donate, you know, to help on a re-supply on materials or whatever, that's fine. But I'm not asking for anything in return," Smith said.
If you're in need of a mask or just want to donate to the cause, stop by her sister's business in Falcon: Reptile Food and More.
