Lingering showers and thunderstorms, dry for tomorrow

Tonight:  Scattered showers and thunderstorms will drift east and end late tonight, then partly cloudy to mostly clear by morning with low temperatures in the 60s for most areas on the plains, but the high mountain valleys and mountain communities will cool into the 40s and 50s.

Sunday:  Mostly sunny in the morning, then increasing clouds over and near the mountains during the afternoon. Showers and thunderstorms are much less likely over the plains Sunday afternoon, but isolated showers and thunderstorms are still possible over the mountains. Hot with high temperatures in the 90s and lower 100s over the plains, 70s and 80s for the mountains and high mountain valleys.

Extended:  Scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected most days over the mountains, and will become more likely over the higher terrain along the I-25 corridor again on Monday, and perhaps farther east over the plains on Tuesday and Wednesday. Temperatures will be hot on Monday with 90s and 100s expected for the plains, with only slight cooling on Tuesday and Wednesday. Scattered showers and thunderstorms might be more confined to the mountains again on Thursday. Temperatures will remain very warm through the end of the week.
