Joe Ruch

Meteorologist Joe Ruch joined the KRDO NewsChannel 13 team in June of 2022 as the weekend evening meteorologist.

Joe knew he wanted to be a weatherman when he was only 12 years old. His passion developed during the Eagles vs. Lions snow bowl game in 2012. Forecasts called for 1-3" of snow in Philadelphia, but the storm dumped blizzard conditions along with 9" of snow. He was curious where the forecast went wrong and vowed to change the forecasting game.

Joe grew up in Philadelphia, Pa., and attended college at Penn State University where he earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Meteorology and Atmospheric Science. While in college, Joe worked for ABC27 in Harrisburg, Pa., and WBRE/WYOU in Scranton, Pa., Upon graduating in 2022, Joe accepted a full-time position with KRDO.

In his free time, Joe enjoys a variety of outdoor activities such as fishing, hiking, and a variety of other activities. He looks forward to taking advantage of all the adventure Colorado has to offer.
