Overview: Thankfully we expect less wind for the next few days. We’ll warm some ahead of a storm that will bring wind, colder air, and possibly some snow to the area later in the week.
Today: Mostly sunny and a little warmer with a light wind for most areas. We expect high temperatures mainly in the 40s and 50s for the plains with 30s over the high country.
Tonight: Mostly clear with low temperatures in the teens and 20s.
Extended: Partly cloudy on Monday with high temperatures in the 50s for more areas. Some areas will probably notice the breeze picking up a little but we do not expect the widespread strong wind we've had recently. A shallow layer of colder air may bring some low clouds to parts of eastern Colorado Monday night into Tuesday morning and should cool the air for the plains. Current indications are that a pretty strong storm system will start to take shape over the area Wednesday into Thursday. Although we don’t know the exact details of the storm later in the week we should expect increasing wind, much colder air and at least some high country snow. Should the storm later this week evolve as currently indicated we could also expect some wind driven precipitation (rain and snow) over parts of eastern Colorado late Wednesday into Thursday. Friday and Saturday should be mostly sunny, dry and cool.
