COSTILLA COUNTY, Colo. (KRDO) -- A man was arrested following a police chase after the Costilla County Sheriff's Office received a suspicious vehicle report near a residential area.

Saturday, Deputy Hummel from the Costilla County Sheriff's Office responded to County Road J-8 following a suspicious vehicle report, at around 10 p.m.

After Deputy Hummel tried to get information from the driver and his identity, the driver drove off in the vehicle.

Then, Deputy Hummel and another deputy started chasing after the vehicle.

After a short pursuit, the suspect got out of the vehicle and continued to run from deputies on foot near County Rd. L-7.

Deputies were able to apprehend the suspect and take him into custody.
