Former Denver Bronco Cody Latimer arrested in Douglas County for assault

DOUGLAS COUNTY, Colo. (KRDO) -- Cody Latimer, an NFL wide receiver currently on the roster for the Washington Redskins, was arrested following a reported disturbance early Saturday in Douglas County.

A report of shots fired inside an apartment called deputies to the Zenith Meridian Apartments just after midnight, said the sheriff's office in a press release Saturday.

At the scene, deputies entered the apartment and contacted three individuals who were all detained.

The sheriff's office said one person had minor injuries unrelated to a gunshot. No other injuries were reported.

One adult male, identified as 27-year-old Cody Latimer, was taken into custody. Latimer was booked into the Douglas County jail on the following charges:

  • Assault in the 2nd Degree  F4
  • Menacing  F5
  • Illegal Discharge of a Firearm  F5
  • Prohibited Use of a Weapon  M2
  • Reckless Endangerment   M3

Latimer was later released on a $25,000 bond, said the sheriff's office. The incident remains under investigation at this time.

The NFL player is currently on the roster with the Washington Redskins. He played for the Denver Broncos for four years after he was drafted as a second-round pick in 2014, according to ESPN.
