Police respond to car accident following a stabbing at a Pueblo KFC

PUEBLO, Colo. (KRDO) -- The Pueblo Police Department is investigating a stabbing at a fast food restaurant on Pueblo's north side.

Saturday, Oct. 15, officers were dispatched to the KFC at 4171 N. Elizabeth St. at 6:50 p.m. While responding to the restaurant, officers were notified of a nearby traffic accident at Hwy. 50 and N. Elizabeth St.

At the accident scene, the PPD said officers were told a male inside one of the vehicles involved in the accident had been stabbed at the KFC.

According to the PPD, the victim walked away from the accident scene but was quickly found walking eastbound on Hwy. 50. He was then taken to a nearby hospital.

Monday, police said the victim was in serious, but stable condition.

According to police, the suspect left the area before officers arrived. However, he later called the Pueblo Police Department Dispatch to tell officers of his location. Police responded and took him in for questioning.

The PPD said this is an active investigation. At this time, no arrests have been made.
