Parker man gets 24 years to life for abusing disabled stepdaughter

23rd Judicial District Attorney’s Office

DOUGLAS COUNTY, Colo. (KRDO) -- A Colorado man has been sentenced to 24 years to life in prison after allegedly sexually assaulting his intellectually disabled stepdaughter.

65-year-old George Robert Gipson was found guilty on multiple counts of sexual assault of an at-risk person and sexual contact of an at-risk person, according to the 23rd Judicial District Attorney’s Office (DA).

The DA details in a press release that Gipson was arrested in 2024 by the Parker Police Department following an investigation.

Law enforcement reported that Gipson's stepdaughter said the abuse happened multiple times over two years before reporting the abuse to her mother. According to the DA, her mother then alerted a case worker at a local facility for adults with disabilities.

Gipson denied all the charges, says the DA.

District Attorney George Brauchler says cases like this remain a top priority in his office.

"Gipson satisfied his lascivious urges at the expense of this vulnerable victim," Brauchler says in a press release. "Now he will likely leave prison feet first, which should be the expected outcome for anyone like him who preys upon the weak and defenseless."
