Absolutely Colorado: free dental care for veterans

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) - A dentist's office in Colorado Springs is helping veterans and their families with free care.

This week, nearly 30 veterans were treated to appointments at Springs Dentistry for its annual Freedom Day event. Services include everything from cleanings to crowns.

The team at Springs Dentistry says this is the least they can do to give back to those who've served.

"Colorado Springs is deeply rooted in the military, and it's such a wonderful thing for us to be able to give back a little bit," says Jessica Duru. "This is a little bit that we can do."

Despite COVID-19 concerns, organizers say this year's event was just as busy as ever. Veterans were required to register in advance, and additional cleaning procedures were carried out between patients.

On Saturday, November 7, Springs Dentistry will offer free dental care for children in need. Parents can pre-register them here.
