18-year-old arrested in homicide investigation: One deceased, one injured

DOUGLAS COUNTY, Colo. (KRDO) -- Douglas County Sheriff's Office arrested 18-year-old Messiah Williams for his alleged involvement in a stabbing that left one dead and another injured.

Deputies say they responded to a stabbing in progress around 11:36 p.m. on July 20 at an apartment in the 1300 block of Sweet River Circle.

According to deputies, they made a force entry into the apartment where they found one victim dead with apparent stab wounds and another with a serious arm injury, which appeared to have been caused by a knife. According to deputies, the second victim was taken to a local hospital in critical condition.

Deputies confirm that they located Williams in an open space south of where the incident occurred.

Messiah Williams was arrested and booked on the following charges, according to DCSO:

  • Murder in the first degree with deliberation
  • Attempted murder in the first degree with deliberation
  • Assault in the first degree
  • Tampering with physical evidence

The investigation remains open.
