Shelter-in-place issued for Cheyenne Mountain Estates trailer park
EL PASO COUNTY, Colo. (KRDO) -- A shelter-in-place was issued Tuesday afternoon due to heavy law enforcement activity in an El Paso County trailer park.
According to the El Paso County Sheriff's Office, the shelter-in-place went into effect just after 12 p.m. for the Cheyenne Mountain Estates trailer park in the area of 8160 Piute Rd.
People were asked to stay away from the area. Residents within a quarter-mile radius of the area were asked to stay inside and away from windows and exterior walls.
At 12:21 p.m., the EPCSO announced the order had been lifted.
According to the sheriff's office, the EPCSO Tactical Support Group secured a residence in the area on behalf of an ongoing investigation by the Colorado Springs Police Department.
