Fountain Police investigate 4-year-old child’s death

FOUNTAIN, Colo. (KRDO) -- The Fountain Police Department is investigating a child's death.

According to the Fountain Police Department, officers were dispatched to the Love's Truck Stop to a request by the Fountain Fire Department.

At the scene, officers found a woman and a juvenile female. Police say the juvenile was unconscious and officers immediately performed CPR.

The child was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to the El Paso County Coroner's Office, the child is 4 years old. The coroner said the autopsy is complete. They're waiting for results to determine the official cause of death.

Police say this is an ongoing investigation.
