Colorado Springs Police Department responds to a barricaded suspect

MGN

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) received a domestic violence call on July 3, 2022.

CSPD responded to the 1800 block of Landis Court where they found a distraught female in the yard.

Officers saw a male go back into the residence. CSPD was advised that the male was threatening to kill the female and then himself.

CSPD says officers attempted to make contact with the male who was inside the residence but were unsuccessful. CSPD then called in the Tactical Enforcement Unit (TEU) for a barricaded suspect.

After the TEU was unsuccessful at making contact, they entered the residence where they found the male suspect was unresponsive. CSPD says that medical personnel declared him dead due to a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
