ABC Exclusive: Barry Morphew explains next steps after murder case dismissed

SALIDA, Colo. (KRDO) -- Barry Morphew, who was on trial for allegedly killing his wife, spoke to Good Morning America to discuss the next steps after the murder case was dismissed.

Morphew's attorney, Iris Eytan, told Good Morning America that they plan to request an investigation into how the 11th Judicial District Attorney's Office handled the case against the Salida man.

Morphew faced the possibility of life in prison after prosecutors pressed a slew of charges, including first-degree murder, in May of 2021 after his wife, Suzanne Morphew, vanished.

Neighbors reported Suzanne missing the year prior, on Mother's Day of 2020, while Barry was out of town for work. Her body still has not been found.

On April 19, prosecutors dropped the charges against Barry "without prejudice", meaning he can be re-charged with her murder.

Barry is still facing three counts in a separate case, for allegedly casting a ballot for Donald Trump in Suzanne's name roughly five months after she vanished. He's expected in court on those charges on May 26th.
