El Paso County Sheriff’s Office is asking for language interpreter volunteers

KRDO

EL PASO COUNTY, Colo. (KRDO) -- The El Paso County Sheriff's Office is looking to recruit bi-lingual or multi-lingual volunteers to assist deputies in the field with non-English speaking citizens.

Their program is designed to have interpreters on hand to make for safer and more efficient interactions between the deputies and residents.

The legal process can be difficult for people who don't speak the same language as the law enforcement they're dealing with, so the interpreters translate conversations in real-time, as well as documents and sitting in on interviews between law enforcement and the citizens.

Although EPCSO is looking for all languages, their greatest need right now is for Spanish-speaking volunteers.
