ELBERT COUNTY, Colo. (KRDO) -- The Elbert County Sheriff's Office says it has identified the remains of a Colorado woman who was found on a 17,000-acre ranch.

Deputies responded to a call on Oct. 8 in which a resident believed they found human remains on their property bordering Arapahoe County. Authorities confirmed the remains were found at a remote location of the ranch.

Investigators identified the body as 35-year-old Emily Norman, who was the mother of two young children. Deputies say Norman struggled with homelessness the last several years and was typically in the Denver area.

Officials are asking people who communicated with Norman during the past year to contact them. Anyone with information about Emily's disappearance or death is asked to contact the Elbert County Sheriff's Office at 303-805-6111 or through email at crimetips@elbertcounty-co.gov.
