Colorado State Patrol looking for suspect in serious hit-and-run crash
PUEBLO COUNTY, Colo. (KRDO) -- The Colorado State Patrol is asking for people to help find the suspect in a hit-and-run crash that left a motorcyclist seriously injured Tuesday.
Troopers say the incident happened on Highway 50 near milepost 329, just west of Avondale. A black 2010 Chevrolet Cobalt turned left from eastbound Highway 50 toward Highway 96 directly in the path of a 2008 Kawasaki Vulcan 900 motorcycle, according to CSP.
62-year-old Terry Jackson's motorcycle hit the right front side of the Cobalt and was ejected onto the windshield of the other vehicle. Jackson was flown to Parkview Medical Center with serious injuries. Troopers say the driver of the Cobalt moved his vehicle to Highway 96 before leaving the scene on foot.
Witnesses described the driver as a Hispanic man in his late twenties or early thirties. He is approximately 5'8" to 5 '9" with a medium build, black hair and unshaven. He was also wearing a black t-shirt. The suspect may have gotten a ride from a small to medium-sized white SUV, according to troopers.
Anyone with information is asked to call CSP at 719-544-2424.
