Serious crash involving motorcyclist on Hwy. 50 in Pueblo County

PUEBLO COUNTY, Colo. (KRDO) - The Colorado State Patrol is searching for a man who ran from the scene of a serious crash involving a motorcycle.

The crash happened Tuesday afternoon on Highway 50 at Highway 96, just west of Avondale. Colorado State Patrol says the driver of a black 2010 Chevrolet Cobalt turned left from Highway 50 and directly into the path of a 2008 Kawasaki Vulcan 900 motorcycle driven by Terry Jackson, 62.

The motorcycle collided with the front of the Cobalt, and Jackson was ejected on to the windshield. He was transported to the hospital with serious injuries.

The driver of the Cobalt fled from the scene on foot after moving the vehicle to Highway 96. Witnesses describe him as a late twenties to early thirties Hispanic man, around 5'9", medium build, with black hair and unshaven face. He was believed to be wearing a black t-shirt, and may have gotten into a small or medium-sized white SUV.

If you have any information that could help investigators, please contact Pueblo Crime Stoppers at 542-STOP (542-7867), or Colorado State Patrol at 719-544-2424.
