Two juveniles arrested in Pueblo after armed carjacking
PUEBLO, Colo. (KRDO) -- Two juveniles from Pueblo are in police custody after carjacking a man at gunpoint early Saturday morning.
At 5:12 a.m., officers were dispatched to a downtown convenience store for a reported carjacking. The victim told police that two male suspects pointed a gun at him and robbed his pickup truck.
After a short while, another officer spotted the stolen vehicle on Mesa Avenue and started a pursuit. At Routt and Emerson, the two suspects crashed into a fenced-off tree and began running away, according to Pueblo Police.
Officers set up a perimeter in the area and shortly after captured both suspects. Police say the two juveniles are of 17 and 14 years of age, with the youngest one already having a felony warrant. An airsoft pistol and a loaded .22 caliber revolver were recovered during the arrests.
Police say the suspects will be screened and booked into the Pueblo Youth Center.
