Local illustrator creates Facebook show for kids

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- Tina Finn has been channeling her stay-at-home activities into a digital channel for kids.
Finn has been doing illustrations for over 40 years, including work for Hallmark. She was looking for a way to help during the pandemic.
Kids, especially the younger ones, can get restless during the quarantine. Finn's idea was to create a Facebook show for children. She gives them some stay-at-home video art projects to keep them occupied.
"It felt fun right from the get-go," Finn says. "It wasn't forced it was just silly. I just didn't realize how silly it was going to be. So it's going to continue to be silly."
One of her videos has over 2,100 views. Her co-hosts, a pair of sock puppets named Cosmo and Sammy, have helped make the show a hit.
"I needed something more than just me," Finn says. "I thought I need something else. I thought, should I dress up funny? Should I put on a big hat? That's where Cosmo and Sammy came in. So I asked my husband, and at first he was like oh there's no way. I'm not doing it. I said sit behind me. We didn't rehearse anything. He started and I couldn't stop laughing. We decided our rule is: one and done. Whatever we do, whatever he comes up with, if I crack up laughing, which I have every time, we're just gonna go forward."
