Fountain Police arrest fugitive following a foot chase

FOUNTAIN, Colo. (KRDO) -- A man wanted on multiple felony arrest warrants is now in custody after leading police on a brief chase Wednesday afternoon.

According to Fountain PD, several of their detectives were trying to locate a fugitive in the area of Plaza Drive and Provincial Drive when they spotted the suspect walking by.

The fugitive, 35-year-old Michael Rollins Sr., took off on foot when detectives tried to initiate contact. A few minutes later, Rollins was taken into custody in the Security neighborhood on the east side of South Highway 85.

Fountain PD says Rollins was wanted on the following charges:

Two counts of Tampering With a Witness or Victim, two counts of Violation of Protection Order, two counts of False Reporting to Authorities, Second Degree Kidnapping with a Deadly Weapon, Second Degree Assault, Felony Menacing, False Imprisonment, Harassment, Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance, First Degree Interdiction of Contraband, Second Degree Burglary, Criminal Mischief and Habitual Criminal.

Rollins also received new charges related to the apprehension. Those include Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance, Resisting Arrest and Obstructing a Peace Officer.
