Pueblo Police arrest suspect in homicide on Main Street Sunday

PUEBLO, Colo. (KRDO) -- A suspect is in custody in connection to a deadly shooting that happened early Sunday in the 700 block of N. Main Street.

Sunday around 12:45 a.m., officers responded to reports of a shooting at 727 N. Main Street.

At the scene, police found a man suffering from gunshot wounds inside of Chelsey's Restaurant and Lounge. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Hours later, officers found and arrested 23-year-old Jacob Isiah Kalanquin in connection to the shooting. PPD says Kalanquin was charged with 2nd Degree Murder.

The victim will be identified by the Pueblo County Coroner, once the next of kin is notified. This is the 27th homicide in Pueblo this year.
