Record-Breaking High Temperatures and Snow Next Week
Tonight: Mostly clear skies with temperatures to59° in Colorado Springs and 64 in Pueblo. Winds calming down after midnight to 5 to 10 mph.
Sunday: plenty of sunshine to start out the morning, With temperatures warming quickly to near-record highs for many valley locations. Temperatures to 96 degrees in Colorado Springs and 102 in Pueblo. Critical to near critical fire weather conditions are expected during the afternoon hours. Fire weather watches are in effect for Fremont and shave County. Increasing cloud coverage during the afternoon but expect minimal chances for precipitation.
Extended: For much of our Labor Day expect clear skies and temperatures about 5 to 10° above average. Highs to 88 degrees in Colorado Springs and 93 in Pueblo. During the afternoon a strong cold front will be tracking through northern Colorado, the front will pass through Colorado Springs after 7pm and that's when things get interesting. Temperatures will plummet into the 30s by early Tuesday morning for the I-25 corridor. Tuesday will feel like January. Forecast confidence is low, but there's a chance Colorado Springs receives a few inches of snowfall through the day Tuesday. Locations above 7000ft are favored to deal with moderate to heavy snowfall. We'll be posting plenty more updates over the coming days, stay tuned, should be very interesting.
