Colorado Springs police investigating remains found in Pueblo County

KRDO

PUEBLO COUNTY, Colo. (KRDO) - The Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) is on scene in the 1400 Block of Second Road in Pueblo County. They say they executed a search warrant in connection to a missing person's report.

While searching the property, investigators found remains. Colorado Springs Police say that the County Coroner will determine whether those remains are human and who they belong to. The Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Pueblo County Sheriff's office, Pueblo police and Colorado Springs Police all aided in the effort.

All police would tell KRDO13 is that information collected by their officers led them to the property in Pueblo West.

Colorado Springs Police, Pueblo Police, Pueblo County Sheriff, and the FBI executed a search warrant in Pueblo County earlier today. Once the tactical teams secured the property, CSPD continued with their investigation. CSPD says that the operation is expected to take another 2 to 3 days to complete.

Neighbors in the area tell KRDO13 they heard sirens and saw police and other law enforcement vehicles around seven in the morning. They say they have called the health department on the property out of concern for the multiple cars and trailers on the property.

"The concern came from like, you know, they're running generators on the property, they don't have power. What kind of living situation do they have?" Joseph Tozer, a neighbor said.

Tozer also says he sees traffic going in and out of the property and passing by his house that isn't consistent with the number of people he knows to live there.

"In general they've only made noise a couple of times," Tozer said. "There is a lot of traffic that concerns us as far as, you know, cars going through."

Police say it may take days to execute the search warrant and say they will shut down 2nd Road on Tuesday.
