Fourth of July celebrations near and around Southern Colorado

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- The Fourth of July is right around the corner. From fireworks to BBQs, it's a day to enjoy all Colorado has to offer.

Below are eight ways to celebrate Independence Day across Southern Colorado, stretching into the Denver Metro Area.

City of Colorado Springs

Star-Spangled Symphony and July 4th Block Party in Colorado Springs

New to Colorado Springs this year is the Star-Spangled symphony and block party. This will replace the Philharmonic Concert traditionally held in Memorial Park. The event will have a concert by the Colorado Springs Philharmonic at the Pikes Peak center and a block party.

The celebration will include food vendors, a beer garden, and a simultaneous broadcast of the concert outside on the north lawn. The concert can also be live-streamed. While no reservation is needed for the block party, free tickets to the concert need to be reserved.

The concert will start at 4:30 p.m. with doors opening at 3:30 p.m. The block party will be 3:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Fireworks throughout the city will follow.

Red, White & Brews Fest July 4th at Florence Brewing Company

Florence Brewing Company is hosting Red, White & Brews Fest on Monday, July 4th. This is a family-friendly event that will happen from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m., after the parade downtown.

Pikes Peak Ave. will be shut down, with live music all day, food trucks & more! Colorado Healing Acres will be hosting a cornhole tournament from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. and Nature’s Educators will have critters to visit with from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.

The day will feature food trucks such as Lala’s Tacos with old-fashioned tacos, From the Flames with wood-fired pizza, Crash Site with gourmet burgers & grilled cheese, and SoCo Chicken with fried chicken & chicken sandwiches. The Frady Catz will be blasting music from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Fireworks will follow the event.

Annual 4th of July Fireworks Celebration along the Pueblo Riverwalk

Pueblo Riverwalk

The Historic Arkansas Riverwalk of Pueblo (HARP) Foundation is hosting its 4th of July Fireworks Celebration Monday, July 4, 2022. The HARP Foundation has planned a free community event that will include a fireworks show, food vendors, live entertainment performed by Rhett Haney, and a posting of our nation's colors by the Pueblo Veterans Ritual Team.

The Foundation will close Alan Hamel Avenue and Main Street to ensure plenty of open space for people to watch the fireworks, grab a meal, and enjoy the live entertainment.

Guests are encouraged to bring their lawn chairs and blankets and not forget their dancing boots! The event will kick off at 4 p.m. with fireworks starting at 9:30 p.m.

Let Freedom Run 5k/10k

Starting at 7 a.m., the 5K and 10K marathons will take off from the Louisville Rec Center. The races include a costume contest. Runners are encouraged to dress up as their favorite American heroes. There are prizes for the best costume.

City of Woodland Park

Old Fashioned 4th of July celebration in Woodland Park

The Old Fashioned 4th of July Celebration features kid activities, a food court, live music and performers, artists, crafters, a beer garden, raising the flag, and a fishing derby! Events at the pavilion in Memorial Park include performances by the Mountain Eire Irish Dancers at 9:30 a.m.

Symphony Above the Clouds will take place on July 5, 2022. The Symphony Above the Clouds is a free community event. This year, the event features music from the Woodland Park Wind Symphony.

For the first time, the City of Woodland Park, with support from Park State Bank, is hosting a drone flyover show as the grand finale. The drone show is expected to start at 9:30 p.m.

Family Fourth at Rock Ledge Ranch

Rock Ledge Ranch is hosting a Family Fourth celebration. The day will include Civil War reenactments, live music by the Pikes Peak Brass Band and the “Strings and Things” dulcimer band, carnival games, chicken bingo, wagon rides, the Seven Falls Indian Dancers, plenty of food, and more.

The celebration kicks off at 10 a.m. and ends at 5 p.m. Tickets can be reserved here.

Festival on the Fourth in Palmer Lake

Palmer Lake is hosting its Festival on the Fourth. The celebration will include a beer garden, 4 local bands, local restaurants, and shops will be open in addition to food trucks. Fun activities for the kids will consist of inflatable bouncy castles and obstacle courses. Hole-in-One Disc golf contest, more games.

The event begins at 2 p.m. and goes until 8 p.m. Fireworks will follow pending the burn ban. While admission is free, parking is $10 on-site.

Independence Day at Dillon Amphitheater with the Colorado Symphony

The Colorado Symphony will be at Lake Dillon. Beginning at 4 p.m. the symphony will play favorites like the Armed Forces Salute, Stars and Stripes Forever, the Overture of 1812, and God Bless America. Admission is free but tickets are required. They can be reserved here.
