Injured Fountain Police officer stable after falling off bridge

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- An officer who fell off a bridge Thursday evening while trying to catch suspects who had committed "multiple felony crimes" is now in stable condition.

The officer with the Fountain Police Department, whose name has not been released, was air-lifted to a hospital after falling off S. Academy over Fountain Creek.

Early Friday morning, officials confirmed the injured officer with the Fountain Police Department was in stable condition.
