PUEBLO COUNTY, Colo. (KRDO) -- A 53-year-old man was sentenced to a decade in prison for an armed robbery that happened in spring.

On March 18, deputies with the Pueblo County Sheriff's Office responded to a Pueblo West home on reports of a robbery. A 75-year-old woman told deputies a man she didn't know entered her home.

According to the sheriff's office, the suspect was carrying a box of Ensure protein drinks and offered her one before taking the remainder to her kitchen. Once inside the kitchen, the woman said he asked her for money before pulling out a handgun and demanding her purse.

The victim told deputies the suspect left with her purse, but she wasn't injured.

Detectives later identified the suspect as 53-year-old Thomas Cosgrove. He was found in Pueblo on March 29 and arrested.

Cosgrove later pled guilty to aggravated robbery.

Friday, the sheriff's office announced that Cosgrove was sentenced to ten years in prison with three years of parole.
