Search for suspect continues after shooting in downtown Colorado Springs

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- Police are investigating a shooting that happened in downtown Colorado Springs. Police say the suspect has yet to be captured.

Tuesday night, police responded to a call for a disturbance at the 100 block of E. Platte Ave. at around 9:20 p.m., near Acacia Park Apartments.

When police responded to the scene, they found a victim with at least one gunshot wound. Police say he was taken to the hospital to get treatment.

According to police, the suspect and the victim who were involved in the shooting knew each other.

Wednesday, police say the suspect remains on the run but police believe there is no threat to the public.

Eastbound and westbound lanes on East Platte Ave. have reopened between Tejon and Nevada.

The shooting remains under investigation.
