Broncos GM John Elway and CEO Joe Ellis test positive for COVID-19

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. (KRDO) — The Denver Broncos confirmed in a statement on Tuesday that Joe Ellis, the team’s chief executive officer and president, and the Broncos’ general manager, John Elway, have tested positive for COVID-19.

According to a release on the Bronco's Twitter page, Ellis was not feeling well on Sunday morning, and out of precaution stayed home instead of attending the game. Monday morning, Elway left the UCHealth Training Center after he reported to the team trainer Steve “Greek” Antonopulos, that he was not feeling well and was experiencing symptoms associated with COVID-19. The release went on to say that 'both Joe and John are doing well' and will continue to self-isolate at home.

The Broncos' facilities were closed on Tuesday for Election Day and the organization said they will be in close communication with the National Football League, following guidance with medical experts, to determine any decisions made on Sunday's game against the Falcons.
