Victim dies a week after shooting near downtown Colorado Springs

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- Police say that the victim of a shooting near downtown Colorado Springs in early October has died from his injuries.

The shooting happened on Oct. 6 near the 200 block of N. Wahsatch Ave. Police found the victim, 57-year-old Todd Barnes, with a gunshot wound and he was immediately taken to the hospital.

Witnesses told KRDO Barnes was found near the parking lot of the McDonald's restaurant at the corner of Wahsatch and E. Bijou Street.

On Tuesday, detectives learned that Barnes had died from his injuries.

CSPD didn't have information about a suspect connected to the shooting. Detectives are asking for anyone with tips to call 719-444-7000 or 719-634-STOP.
