Woman arrested after shooting in Widefield neighborhood
EL PASO COUNTY, Colo. (KRDO) -- A woman is facing multiple charges after a gunshot victim was taken to the hospital early Sunday with critical injuries.
The El Paso County Sheriff's Office said in a release that deputies were called to a domestic dispute just after 1:30 a.m. in the 700 block of Harvard St. At the scene, deputies found a gunshot victim and began life-saving measures.
The suspect, 50-year-old Valerie Coes, was arrested at the scene on the following charges:
- Murder in the Second Degree (Criminal Attempt),
- Assault in the First Degree, and
- Felony Menacing.
