Pueblo police investigate after man fatally shot

PUEBLO, Colo. (KRDO) -- Police say a homicide investigation is underway after a man was found dead from a gunshot wound Saturday night.

Just after 10:45 p.m., police responded to a reported shooting in the 700 block of Wilson Avenue. At the scene, they found a 37-year-old male with a gunshot wound, according to the Pueblo Police Department.

Capt. Rummel with Pueblo PD initially called the injury 'serious,' and stated that a suspect was in custody in a post around 11 p.m. Saturday. The Pueblo Police Department released an update at 9:30 a.m. Sunday saying that the victim died and that no arrests have been made at this time.

The victim's identity has not yet been released by the coroner's office. This is the second homicide investigation in Pueblo in 2020.

This is remains an active investigation.
