Colorado Springs police and their K-9 officers took advantage of the empty hallways of Pine Creek High School during winter break.

Officers held training with their K-9 partners at the D-20 high school at the beginning of the month. The dogs and their handlers sniffed through the gym, locker rooms, cafeteria and all the hallways in between, all while improving their search skills and teamwork.

CSPD says such training is a great way to expose the dogs to new rooms, smells and a training ground they're not familiar with.
