Denver Police find 2-year-old safe after issuing AMBER Alert

DENVER, Colo. (KRDO) -- Update: Denver Police Department said it had located Jayleel Jones, and the toddler is safe.

Previous: The Colorado Bureau of Investigation and Denver Police Department are searching for a 2-year-old they believe was abducted and taken in a stolen black Kia in Denver.

An Amber Alert was issued for 2-year-old Jayleel Jones. The child was last seen wearing a Looney Tunes t-shirt, navy blue shorts, and white high-top shoes. He has diamond earrings, and his hair is in braids.

Investigators say the man suspected of abducting Jayleel is in his 30s and is heavy-built with a shaved head. Police did not reveal the suspect's identity in a press release.

The child and the suspect are believed to be in a black Kia with Colorado license plate BELLZ92. The car has damage to the passenger side door as well as tape marks on the rear hatch, according to police.

The vehicle was last seen around 2:30 pm on Saturday at 8th and Monaco in Denver.
