Two arrested in Pueblo after drone identifies stolen, spray-painted car

PUEBLO, Colo. (KRDO) -- The Pueblo Police Department (PPD) says it arrested two people after a drone found a stolen car that had been spray-painted a different color.

According to officials, officers received a report of a suspicious vehicle near Lake Avenue and Joliet Avenue around 12:35 p.m. on Aug. 28. The Real-Time Crime Center deployed a drone to gain more information and found the car in question was stolen and had been spray-painted a different color.

Officers responded and tracked the car to a trailer park in the 2400 block of Lake Avenue. PPD says they contacted the driver and identified her as 47-year-old Donna Plascencia. She was also wanted by the FBI Safe Streets Program, according to officials.

Another suspect, 50-year-old Jesse Pyrtle, tried to run but was eventually taken into custody as well.

Plascencia and Pyrtle were booked into the Pueblo County Jail. Plascencia is facing charges of second-degree aggravated motor vehicle theft and contempt of court. Pyrtle is being charged with contempt of court and failure to appear.
